Friendship in a season of change
On outgrowing, being outgrown, and staying kind through both.
Few things are as quietly painful as a friendship that thins out without a single argument. People move. Seasons change. The rhythm that held you together stops working and neither of you is to blame.
Some friendships are meant for a stretch of road rather than the whole journey. Letting one become what it now is, rather than what it was, is a form of honesty, not betrayal.
Stay kind on the way out. Say thank you where you can. And leave room for the people God is bringing into the next stretch.
